I am subscribed to quite a few beauty subscription boxes, and have been for quite some time now, but I still get super excited when I see one has been delivered. My second beauty box to be delivered in August was my Birchbox. I did receive it last week, so my apologies for this post being a bit late! Most likely everyone has already seen this box time and again by now but I thought I would write this post for you guys anyway. I’ve had a super busy month so far, with lots of travelling and my 20th Birthday involved, so posting on here has been a bit sparse. But I am back into my normal routine again now, so expect a lot more posts in the next couple of weeks!
Here at the goodies I received in my Birchbox this month;
- Dead Sea Spa Magik: Refreshing Bath Shower Gel | RRP £7.15
- Number 4: Super Comb Prep & Protect | RRP £20
- Supergoop!: Daily Correct SPF CC Cream | RRP £32
- Vasanti: Brightenup! Enzymatic Rejuvenator | RRP £26
- Wild About Beauty: Powder Eyeshadow | RRP £13
- The Proposal By Tasmina Perry | RRP £7.99
I have a huge bag full of travel shower and bath gels, which I adore, because every time I go away I get to pick one to bring with me. I have a lot to choose from currently, but this little shower gel will a joy to add to my collection. In my years of receiving varied beauty boxes, I have come across Dead Sea Spa Magik quite a few times, and have received a couple of their items, which I have always loved, so I am definitely looking forward to trying this on a mini break somewhere (hopefully!!)
I have extremely long hair which often gets tangled, especially at the back of my head, towards the top of my neck, a lovely matted knot always appears (anyone else?!). So anything that promises to de-tangle my hair is a winner straight away in my eyes. It is a leave in conditioning spray that strengthens and protects with UV/Color Polar Sheild. It can be used on all hair types, and is anti-aging… yes please Number 4!
BB and CC creams have never really been up my street if I’m honest. I have quite heavily scarred cheeks from acne in my early teens and I just feel like they never give me the coverage that I really need to cover these up. I received two tiny 3ml samples of this CC cream, which are the perfect size to leave in the bottom of your bag, just in case you get caught short one day without any makeup (it could happen? – maybe?). The consistency of this CC cream is really creamy and is super easy to blend out, with a little going a long way.
‘Exfoliating cleanser, enriched with papaya, micro-crystals and aloe’ – an exfoliator and cleanser in one – ooo hello! I love the micro-crystals that are in this, they are really small and don’t irritate my skin at all, leaving it super soft! You are only meant to use a pea-sized amount with this, so the little sample bottle should go a long way!
As I mentioned in my Glossybox review (HERE), recently eyeshadows have become ‘my thing’ and I LOVE trying out different brands, shades and consistencies, so to see this beautiful beautiful eyeshadow in my Birchbox was great! I received the shade ‘fern’ which is a gorgeous golden bronzed brown with a bee etched into the eyeshadow itself. It’s really pigmented and applies smoothly, and would look amazing for a bronzed summer look.
I’m not really a book person, I love the idea of being able to lounge around in my PJ’s reading a good book – but it’s just not me. The only books I have really read are all the Harry Potter’s (my favourite thing in the whole world!) and some crime novels. However, I do think sending the first chapter of a book and no more is a great idea and I am sure lots of people have gone out and bought the full copy of this! This is being donated to one of my sisters who is, unlike me, a true book lover!
This month I am a lot more impressed with my Birchbox than I have been recently, I have been thinking about cancelling my subscription for a long time now but can’t actually bring myself to do so. Hopefully they’re back on track and will continue to send some great products like they did this month!
If you fancy signing up to Birchbox yourself, you can use my link – here, which gives us both £5 to spend in the Birchbox shop. Every time you purchase a box, refer a friend or review an item you got in your Birchbox on their site, you get points, and these start to mount up really quickly. Recently, I had been saving up my points, then spent £60 worth in the Birchbox shop, you can see that haul here. You can also read any of my previous Birchbox reviews here if you fancy seeing what their other boxes have been like before you make your decision!
