Birchbox March 2015 Review|Habitat

It’s been a while here since I’ve done a review of a subscription box but I’m back with Birchbox’s March offering, in which they’ve joined forces with Habitat (‘homeware store of dreams’) to provide a really great box.

Birchbox March 2015 Review Habitat

This month the theme is ‘DO TRY THIS AT HOME’, which is one I really like – recently I’ve been doing a lot of DIY and home crafts so this is right up my street. The box itself is actually one of my favourites and I’m definitely going to be keeping it for some sort of storage. Habitat have included a 20% off voucher so I will be having a cheeky look on their site as I’ve also recently become obsessed with homeware after redecorating my room this month.

Now onto the box itself, my March Birchbox included the following;

  • Benefit | Roller Lash
  • Catherine Malandrino | Style De Paris
  • Philip Kingsley | Elasticizer
  • Serenity Skincare | Dead Sea Bath Salt
  • Lord & Berry | Bronzer
  • A Perfect Heritage | By Penny Vincenzi
  • Birchbox & Habitat | Exclusive Mini Notebook

Birchbox March 2015 Review Habitat Contents

Received 3g Sample | RRP £19.50 for 8.5g
This month, Birchbox let their subscribers chose between three of Benefit’s mascaras – BADgal Lash, Roller Lash or They’re Real! I received the sample of Roller Lash in this month’s Elle and fell in love completely, so I knew I had to get my hands on another sample.
Roller Lash has now become my favourite ever mascara, I am literally so impressed with it – there will be a full review of it posted soon. It coats all my lashes individually without any clumps, whilst giving a beautiful curl that lasts all day. I will put this mascara on before work, and when I’m finished after my 12 hour shift, it looks exactly the same as it did in the morning – seriously impressed with this!
Birchbox March 2015 Review RollerLash Lord & Berry Bronzer Beneft

Received 2g Sample | RRP £19 for 12g
Another thing I was really excited to see when I opened my Birchbox was this Lord & Berry Bronzer. I had seen that other subscribers had received this a couple of months ago and I hadn’t so I’m really glad I got to get my hands on it this time round. I received the shade Sienna which is a lovely matte shade perfect for a light contour that won’t look ‘dirty’. I’m excited to give this a try and hopefully give myself some cheekbones!

Received Sample Size | RRP £50 for 50ml
I know a lot of people don’t like receiving samples of fragrances in beauty boxes, but I actually really enjoy being able to sample different ones I wouldn’t normally. I also have a small collection of these little samples, which are perfect for travelling or popping into your handbag.
I’m awful at describing fragrances, but Birchbox describe it as ‘a playful yet sophisticated fragrance with citrus top notes and a fruity twist’. I personally think it smells slightly masculine, which is something I do like in a fragrance – I really really like this , it’s going into my handbag right now!

Birchbox March 2015 Review Contents Phillip Kingsley

Received 20ml Sample | RRP £29 for 150ml
I was super excited to see this in this month’s box as I have received it in another beauty box previously and I absolutely loved it, but haven’t been able to justify forking out nearly £30 for a replacement since it ran out.
It’s a pre shampoo treatment which restores suppleness and bounce to damaged hair. I love pre shampoo treatments, and this is my personal favourite. It makes my hair feel fabulously, really healthy and strong – I’m already looking forward to using this again.

Received  Sample | RRP £7.50 for 1KG
Now I’m not one for bath’s, so this will be gifted to one of my friends but I’m sure a lot of subscribers would have been happy to see this in their box. Scattering some of the salts into the bath can help with relieving skin disorders, stress strains, muscle aches and detoxing the body. They can also help to restore the skin’s moisture levels, and are 100% natural sea salts.

Birchbox March 2015 Review Habitat Book

Received 2 Chapter’s | RRP £7.99
I think sending out the first couple of chapters of a book is a great idea as you can see if you’d like the book before purchasing the full copy. I’m popping this next to my bed for a night time read, I’m trying to read more books at the moment, so this is a perfect start without having to commit.

A little cute notebook that says ‘Here’s the plan…’, perfect for popping into your handbag to jot down any notes that come into your head on the go. I’ve already used this to note down some post ideas for the future, a lovely little addition to an already great box.

This month’s Birchbox has really impressed me and I will get use out of everything except the bath salts, but I’ve got a friend in mind who will love them. I’m not entirely sure how the theme ‘Do try this at home’ has been featured in the box except for the notebook and voucher, but I don’t really mind. Really excited to try the Lord & Berry Bronzer, and super happy that I’ve got another Benefit’s Roller Lash as a backup.

If you fancy signing up to Birchbox, you can use my link which gives both of us £5 to spend in the Birchbox shop, which has some really great products – HERE

Are you subscribed to Birchbox? What did you think of this month’s box?
