Today another one of my monthly subscription boxes was delivered in the form of my Birchbox – which was the one I was most looking forward to receiving. I had seen loads of reviews for September’s Birchbox before mine was even dispatched (slow postie?) and had seen that quite a few people had been sent a Beauty Blender – which I have been seriously lusting over. Last time Birchbox sent out Beauty Blender’s I wasn’t lucky enough to get one in my box so this month I had my finger’s crossed!
September’s Birchbox theme is ‘Happy Days’ – “inside youll find products that will help you look your best during your happiest days, including a must-have make-up sample and a hair hero – plus a couple of fun ways to display your favourite images!”. I really love this theme and think it’s such a great way to ‘round off’ the summer. There is also a suggestion to use both parts of the box as a photo frame, which I think is such a great idea as I have LOADS of empty beauty boxes lying around my house.
In September’s Birchbox I received;
> Agave | Healing Oil Treatment
> Benefit | It’s Potent! Eye Cream
> Korres | Citrus Body Milk
> Modelco | Lip Lacquer In ‘morocco’
> Beautyblender & Blendercleanser Soap
> Urban Fruit | Smashing Strawberry
> Birchbox |happy Days Photo Clip
As you can see from the list above I got such a great selection of items this month in my Birchbox and I am so impressed! The two items I was hoping for after seeing other reviews was Benefit’s It’s Potent! and the BeautyBlender – both of which I received
AGAVE | HEALING OIL TREATMENT
Received 4ml Sample | RRP £25 for 120ml
If you read my blog you will be well aware that my hair is very dead and dry, so seeing a healing oil treatment in my box is great for me. This lightweight oil is meant to smooth hair, build resiliency and boost shine and colour – everything I need! The sample is only tiny, but you only need a 5p-sized amount every time so this should give me a couple of applications. This smells absolutely delicious and like cocoa butter – I’m definitely going to be saving this for the days where my hair needs some extra TLC!
BENEFIT | IT’S POTENT! EYE CREAM
Received 3g Sample | RRP £25.50 for 14.2g
Benefit is definitely one of my favourite high end brands – I love everything about them and It’s Potent! is an eye cream that has been on my wish list for a while now but I haven’t managed to get round to purchasing it. Recently I have developed under eye dark circles from working late shifts and need something to help budge them – and I’m hoping this will do the trick. It’s a brightening eye cream to fade dark circles and help smooth fine lines – another perfect product for me from Birchbox this month! I really like the consistency of this, it’s not greasy at all and doesn’t irritate my eye area – but only time will tell if this works for me!
KORRES | CITRUS BODY MILK
Received 50ml Sample | RRP £10 for 200ml
I haven’t actually come across Korres before, but this is why I especially love beauty boxes as I am always being introduced to new brands and products. I think this is a great sample size of body milk but unfortunately it’s just not for me. I have so many samples of body milks and lotions that I really never get round to using them – so this is going to be donated to my friend. I personally think the smell of this is amazing but it’s more of a manly smell containing almond oil, shea butter and citrus.
MODELCO | LIP LACQUER IN ‘MOROCCO’
Received Unknown Sample Size | RRP £15
This month Birchbox allowed their subscribers to chose between ModelCo samples to be in their September box – a mascara or the choice between two lip lacquers. Recently I have received so many mascaras, so I opted for the lip lacquer in the shade ‘Morocco’. Morocco is a mauvey nude colour which looks absolutely beautiful once applied. I’m really not a fan of lip glosses but this is something else – it’s super moisturising and isn’t sticky on my lips at all. It’s got a lovely sheen to it but still keeps the colour and definitely would be great for an everyday look. I absolutely love this and just wish the sample size was a bit bigger!
BEAUTYBLENDER & BLENDERCLEANSER SOAP
Received Full Size Product | RRP £26
When I opened my Birchbox and saw I had received the BeautyBlender this time I was so excited – I have been lusting over this for quite a while now but really couldn’t bring myself to part with £26 for a sponge, especially as I have Real Technique’s Miracle Complexion sponge which is often known as a near dupe. This looked absolutely tiny when it first arrived, but as I wet the sponge and squeezed the water out it over doubled in it’s size. I am so so impressed with this, and I am sorry to say that it is a lot better than the Real Technique’s offering. It applies liquid foundation so effortlessly with such a beautiful air brush finish. I am definitely going to have to write up a full review on this (to join the million others online!)
Received Full Size Snack Pack | RRP £1.13
I am trying to eat a lot healthier currently, so these were a great lifestyle addition to my Birchbox – I love strawberries and I love snacking (especially at work!) . They’re super delicious and were eaten as soon as I took this photos – oops!
BIRCHBOX |HAPPY DAYS PHOTO CLIP
If you haven’t guessed it already from this review – I am so happy with September’s Birchbox, it has definitely been the best one I have ever received. The beauty blender alone cost nearly double the price of the box, so I have got my moneys worth and all but one products (the body milk) I will definitely be using.
If you fancy signing up to Birchbox yourself, you can use my link – here, which gives us both £5 to spend in the Birchbox shop. Every time you purchase a box, refer a friend or review an item you got in your Birchbox on their site, you get points, and these start to mount up really quickly. Recently, I had been saving up my points, then spent £60 worth in the Birchbox shop, you can see that haul here. You can also read any of my previous Birchbox reviews here if you fancy seeing what their other boxes have been like before you make your decision!
