If you’re a regular reader here on emilyloula, I’m pretty sure you’ll have come across my subscription box addiction before (see my Subscription Box category if not!), I just love getting a little surprise through the post each month, especially when it’s full of beauty products! Recently when I was given the chance to review a brand new subscription box for you guys, I jumped at the chance, so today I’ll be giving you my thoughts on the Look Incredible Box*.
For £18.99 a month, Look Incredible Box subscribers will receive the box containing 5 full size products, with no tiny samples in sight! I love the idea of having no samples featured, as sometimes in a subscription box, I’ll fall head over heels for a product, only to get 3 or 4 uses out of it, which is always disappointing. Although the price is higher than some other beauty boxes on the market, the fact that all the products you’ll receive will be full sized definitely increases the value of the box.
November’s Look Incredible Box Featured;
- Essie | Let It Shine Top Coat
- Nails Inc | ‘Hanover Square’ Nail Polish
- Dolce & Gabbana | Lip Gloss
- bareMinerals | Pure Transformation Day Treatment & Kabuki Brush
Essie | Let It Shine Top Coat > £9.95
Recently, I’ve been trying to get back into growing my nails, and keeping them in good condition, so I was happy to see this top coat from Essie included in the box. I don’t actually own a good top coat at the moment as it’s always one of those products I intend to pick up when shopping, but never actually do. This top coat is a clear formula that helps to enhance the colour of the nail varnish you’re wearing underneath, or add a gorgeous natural looking shine to bare nails. It also has a unique anti-ageing formula that has been created with a special blend of polymers and resins, that help to protect your manicure, and leave your nails looking younger with an extra glossy finish. I have to say, I’ve never thought about anti ageing products for my nails, but it makes sense I suppose, and it’s a product unlike anything I own, and one that I’m glad to have now. Essie is a great brand where nail polishes are concerned, so it’s a fab addition to the Look Incredible Box, and an item I’m sure subscribers will be really happy to see.
Nails Inc | ‘Hanover Square’ Nail Polish > £11.00
The second nail product in the Look Incredible box is from another great brand, that again I’m sure a lot of subscribers will be pleased to see, and that’s Nails Inc. From looking online, it does appear that ‘Hanover Square’ is a limited edition shade, that was originally created in collaboration with Glamour. I’m imagining that at one point, this was included as a freebie with an edition of Glamour, however I’m not bothered by this at all. If anything, I think it’s quite nice that a limited edition shade has been featured – especially when the shade is as gorgeous as this. Also the nail polish itself is full sized and worth over £11, so in my opinion it’s not to be sniffed at. I think Hanover Square is the perfect shade for the Autumnal months and would even be gorgeous with some added glitter over the top in the lead up to Christmas.
bareMinerals | Pure Transformation Day Treatment > £45.00
This is definitely my favourite product that was featured in the Look Incredible Box, and it’s one that I’ve been using almost daily since I received it. As a big fan of the original bareMinerals foundation, I had high hopes for this and they’ve actually been met, if not beaten. This is a skincare treat that blurs your pores, improves luminosity, protects your skin from the sun with SPF20, whilst colour correcting and giving a natural coverage. It also contains moisture minerals to keep skin hydrated, and ActiveSoil Complex which targets signs of ageing as it’s proven to increase cell turnover & provide antioxidant defence. I love wearing this alone after my morning skincare routine for a quick pop to the shops, as it adds a healthy glow, resulting in a no makeup, makeup look. After a tinted moisturiser or light base, it’s also great to add a little more coverage, whilst evening out my skintone and providing all the great benefits I’ve mentioned above, to my skin. This is a product that I probably wouldn’t have purchased myself, due to the high price point (£45), but I think that’s exactly what a subscription box is for – introducing you to new fantastic products that you otherwise may not pick up. I’m absolutely in love with this bareMinerals Pure Transformation Day Treatment, and it’s a product that I know I’m going to finish up and will most likely repurchase afterwards.
Dolce & Gabbana | Lip Gloss > £23.50
When I first saw this lip gloss inside the box, I have to admit I was slightly disappointed. I didn’t think I would like the shade, and since I’m not a fan of lip glosses in general, I thought I wouldn’t get any use out of it. However, I was definitely wrong. On the lips this shade translates to a beautiful peachy shade and doesn’t feel tacky, sticky or weird on the lips at all. In fact, it actually feels quite nourishing and I’m really enjoying using it. It gives a really pretty gloss effect, that doesn’t look like those cheap lip glosses you can buy, but instead a high quality, 3-Dimensional shine. I don’t own any products from Dolce & Gabbana, so this is a first for me, but I’m actually really impressed and I may even pick up another shade. Again, this is another product that I wouldn’t have bought for myself, due to my hatred of lipglosses, but I’m really glad I was given the chance to try this out, as I’m honestly rather impressed.
Overall, I think this a great first box for Look Incredible, as it features some amazing brands, and all of the products have actually wow’d me. The only thing I’m slightly disappointed about, is that the bareMinerals brush, which you would receive if you were to buy the Pure Transformation Day Treatment yourself, counts as the fifth product in this box. Whilst yes, the brush is technically another product, as you could use the little Kabuki brush with other makeup items, I do feel like it’s a slight cop out of one of the five products. I have raised this to the Look Incredible team, and they were very grateful for my feedback, and have taken this onboard for future boxes.
When totalling up the contents of this box, the full retail price of all the products included is over £88, which in my opinion is incredible value, when the box itself costs only £18.99. I know that I’ll get use out of every single product in this box, which is a rarity for me, and it’s also introduced me to two products that I wouldn’t have purchased myself otherwise, which is always a plus! If you like the sound of the Look Incredible box, and would like more information or would like to sign up to receive your own box, you can do so on Smartzprice’s website here.
