My third beauty subscription box to be posted through my door this month was my June Birchbox. I was super excited to receive this, as I had seen many other subscribers had gotten a Beauty Blender in their box – unfortunately not me this month!
If you are unfamiliar with Birchbox, where have you been hiding?! Birchbox is a beauty based monthly subscription service, it’s £12.95 a month including shipping, and you collect reward points for every box and additional items you buy from them. Every month, you’ll receive a box filled with 4-5 beauty, grooming, and lifestyle samples from both up-and-coming and well known brands.
The June Birchbox’s theme is ‘Global Strikers’ “we’re taking inspiration from the world cup and filling this month’s box with top beauty players from accross the globe
This month I received the following products in my June Birchbox;
> Embryolisse: Lait-Crème Concentrè, RRP from £12.99
> Silk & Honey: Shea Butter Hair Mask, RRP £55 Full DIY Set
> OPI: Nail Lacquer: The Brazil Collection, RRP £11.95
> Yves Rocher: Sheer Botanical Lipstick, Introductory Price £11.95
> Naobay: Body Radiance Lotion, RRP £14
> Birchbox: Brazil-Inspired Keyring
Embryolisse: Lait-Crème Concentrè, RRP from £12.99
“this cult French moisturiser soothes skin with natural ingredients and is suitable for all”
This is a tiny 5ml sample in one of those metal type tubes, which always remind me of something from the pharmacy. It’s the perfect size to put in the bottom of your handbag and to forget about until one of those days you really need it. I have read online it works well as a primer along with a moisturiser so I’m definitely going to keep this for an emergency supply!
Silk & Honey: Shea Butter Hair Mask, RRP £55 Full DIY Set
“this deep nourishing mask protects and softens hair, while fortifying it’s elasticity”
My hair is generally in really bad condition, I have a drastic case of split ends and I’ve been dying my hair non stop for a good 8. My hair is also past my waist so it takes a lot to keep it looking healthy. I’m really hoping this little tub of hair mask will help with this. I’ve tried quite a few hair masks in my time and have only found a couple that actually work well for me but hopefully this will be another one. However, to buy this hair mask again it only appears to retail in a “DIY kit” which looks like a science kit, full of bottles, spatulas and pipette’s. This could be fun for some people, but it’s not really my cup of tea, especially for an eye watering £55!
OPI: Nail Lacquer: The Brazil Collection, RRP £11.95
“a vibrant polish inspired by Brazil’s tropical rainforest and sandy beaches”
Everyone knows about OPI, and know’s what a great nail varnish brand they are so I don’t think I even need to go into that! This is a another perfect handbag sized item, at a cute 3.75ml this is a lovely metalic colour with slight purple and blue undertones. If you read my blog you’ll know that I am not a big fan of nail varnishes, and along with any nail varnishes I receive they get passed onto my younger sister, who is always grateful.. (aren’t you alice?!)
Yves Rocher: Sheer Botanical Lipstick, Introductory Price £11.95
“a sheer glossy lipstick infused with moisturising cherry oil to leave lips lusciously soft”
This is my favourite item in this months birchbox, the description is absolutely right, it does make your lips really nice and soft. The shade I received is called ‘litchi’, it’s one of those ‘your lips but better’ colours. I can never have enough different lip colours so I am always very happy to receive a lip product in a subscription box.
Naobay: Body Radiance Lotion, RRP £14
“a lemony fresh organic body lotion with shea butter, olive and avocado oils for soft skin”
I am not a huge fan of body lotion’s, I have to admit I am really lazy when it comes to this kind of thing. I am very lucky in the respect that my skin keeps moisture really well and I rarely ever suffer with dry skin so I get very little use out of these kind of products. It does smell really nice, and the ingredients list does look like it would work very well. This is probably a great product for someone who loves body lotions, but not me unfortunately.
Birchbox: Brazil-Inspired Keyring
This is a cute little keyring and a nice addition to the box to round of the world cup theme this month. I would definitely put it on my keys except for the fact I have way too much stuff on them already I barely have any room. I will donate this to my littlest sister, I’m sure she will love it
Last month was the best Birchbox I have received in the whole time of being subscribed (you can view my review here), so I had high hopes for this box. I really like the theme and how each product is from a different country but I don’t think I am going to get all that much use out of the products in this box. The only thing that really excited me was the lipstick, which I am impressed by and I will get some use out of the hairbox. Compared to a lot of other boxes I have seen, I think I was one of the more unlucky ones as some other people got some fab products (inc. the beauty blender…grrr). Hopefully next month will impress me more, but it seems just to be luck of the draw for me at the moment! If you would like to sign up to Birchbox you can use this link
