Review: NARS Orgasm Blush

After hearing countless beauty blogger’s raving about NARS blushers, and in particular the “orgasm” shade, I had to have one. After purchasing ASOS’s unlimited next-day delivery for a year (absolute bargain) and seeing that a lot of make up including NARS was on sale I had to have one.

I spent a long time trawling through google and various blogs looking up reviews, colours and swatches for all the various shades of the NARS blusher. The one everyone was mentioning and apparently had fallen in love with was the “orgasm” shade. I jumped on the bandwagon and bought it for £19 from ASOS on Friday evening, when I woke up on Saturday it had already been delivered.

Once I had opened my package I found myself “ooo’ing and ahhh’ing” over the beauty of this little blusher. I have to admit I thought it would be slighter bigger, but I hadn’t looked up sizes or anything myself so I had just assumed. In reality this is a lovely sized blusher, perfect for your makeup bag but still has plenty of product in it, I have read countless reviews on people who have this NARS blusher for years and still haven’t hit the pan. I’m hoping this is the same for me!

This is my first ever NARS product (pretty exciting huh!), and so far I’m very impressed. The packaging is cute and simple, just black and white with the NARS logo in huge letters. The casing has a very matte finish and feel, which I have to admit I am not the biggest fan of. This is purely because when it is in my makeup bag it seems to dirty very quickly, with the other contents of my bag sticking to it. This is just a personal niggle and me being fussy!

The colour of the blush is beautiful, the shade is described as “a peachy pink with a golden shimmer”. Its a warm, medium pink coral colour with a lovely golden shimmer. I have quite a light skin tone, but I do have natural brown hair so I’m not quite as pale as I could be. This shade looks really natural on my skin, and blends really well with my real techniques blusher brush. It’s a really nice build-able blusher, a tiny bit looks really natural but by building upon it you can definitely achieve a much more colourful look. I can get at least up to 7 hours of wear out of this with a good primer and base, which I am very happy with!

Overall I am really impressed with this NARS blusher and will definitely look into some more NARS products in the future. I’m sure I will be buying a lot of little bits like this from ASOS with my next day delivery, (it’s an addiction help!). Is there any other blushes like this you think I should try??
