Forever Repurchased: The Skincare Edition

Before starting emilyloula, skincare didn’t really phase me all that much, but fast forward a few years and I would say I’m now well and truly addicted. I love testing out skincare items, and I’m always on the look out for new releases and fellow blogger reviews. I’m constantly trying out new things, but there are a few skincare products that I will forever repurchase as I truly do love them so much, and that’s what I thought I’d talk to you about today.

Forever Repurchased Products Skincare Edition emilyloula beauty blog Nip and Fab REN Garner

Nip+Fab | Glycolic Fix Night Pads Extreme > £14.95
REN | ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser > £19.00
Garnier | Pure Micellar Cleansing Water > £4.99

The first product that I will forever repurchase are these Nip+Fab’s Glycolic Fix Night Pads – in the extreme version. I’ve spoken about these a few times here on emilyloula, and there’s a good reason for that – they’re honesty great! This little pot contains 60 pre-soaked pads, packed with a concentrated blend of AHAs & BHAs including Glycolic acid, Salicylic acid  & Lactic acid. These amazing ingredients are said to revive and refine dull skin, decongest clogged pores, and leave your complexion looking brighter – a statement I would definitely agree with. Since these pads are the extreme version, Nip +Fab do suggest that these are used around once or twice a week, instead of daily for the usual pads. They have a lovely fresh, uplifting grapefruit scent and the fact that these pads are pre soaked, really appeals to the lazy girl within me.

Over my time as a skincare junkie, I’ve tried out countless number of cleansers, always testing out a new one when my previous bottle is finished, never repurchasing the same one again. This is because I always felt that there was something better out there for my skin, and nothing quite hit the mark I was looking for. That was until I tried REN’s ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser late last year, and I fell in love immediately. This is the only cleanser that I have ever repurchased, and now I’m onto bottle number 3 – I really do love it that much. It’s a clay based cleanser that really helps with my breakouts and acne, but doesn’t dry out my skin or leave it feeling tight at all. REN do not use synthetic fragrance or colours, pore-blocking petrochemicals, silicones, sulfates, PEGs, TEA/DEA, parabens, urea or animal ingredients in their products, so they’re always a joy to use. I love the consistency of this cleanser, it applies really nicely, without lathering up and in turn drying out my skin. My skin feels thoroughly cleansed and soft and smooth to the touch after I use this – it also keeps my oiliness at bay, which is fab. I don’t have a bad word to say about this, and I’ll definitely continue to repurchase!

Micellar waters have been on our shelves for a couple of years now in the UK, but I’m still as much of a fan – if not more, than when I originally tried them. I’ve tried pretty much all of the micellar waters that are readily available here, and without a doubt Garnier’s PureActive version has to be my favourite – even beating the cult Bioderma. I use micellar water every single day, whether that’s for a first cleanse, to completely remove my eye makeup, or on a tiny cotton bud to touch up any mishaps – it’s a definite essential for me. This version takes off all my makeup with ease, including waterproof mascara whilst not drying my skin out, or leaving any oily residue or tackiness on my skin afterwards. It’s the perfect balance for me, I absolutely love it and will definitely continue to buy it.

Forever Repurchased Products Skincare Edition emilyloula beauty blog Vichy La Roche Posay Nuxe

NUXE | Rêve de Miel Honey Lip Balm > £9.50
La Roche-Posay | Effaclar AI – Targeted Breakout Corrector > £11.00
Vichy | Aqualia Thermal Dynamic Hydration Light Cream > £18.00

NUXE’s Rêve de Miel is without a doubt, the best lip balm I’ve ever tried – it definitely deserves it cult status!Unlike any other balm I’ve previously tried, Rêve de Miel has an incredibly thick consistency, that nourishes and hydrates my lips back to tip top condition. I’ve bought this as a present for some of my friends, and my sister and they’ve all told me how impressed they are with it and how it’s also their favourite lip balm too. I wouldn’t recommend using this underneath lipsticks, as it really is that thick, but as a deep conditioning treatment before you sleep it’s absolutely perfect. NUXE also recommend mixing this with brown sugar for your very own lip scrub, which I have yet to try, but I definitely will do! I think this is my fourth tub of this, and I’ve also tried out the stick format, which is a lot less thick, but still amazing, I would definitely recommend both to everyone! Also it smells absolutely delicious – reminding me of a mixture of sweet honey and lemon sherbets, mmmm.

If I had to chose one spot treatment to use for the rest of my life, I would 100% choose La Roche Posay’s Effaclar AI. Described as a ‘Targeted Breakout Corrector’, this is unlike any other spot treatment I’ve ever used – and as an acne sufferer, that’s a lot, trust me. Not only is the creamy consistency different to a usual spot treatment, but whilst treating the spot itself, it also stops it from scarring or leaving a residual mark. I have hyperpigmentation, which means that my skin scars and marks really quickly, especially from my acne, and spots, but I’ve found that this has been a big help. It does a great job at actually clearing up the original spot, doesn’t leave any sticky film on my skin, or sting and as mentioned, helps with the post blemish scarring. I absolutely love this stuff, I don’t even know how many tubes of this I have been through, but I can’t imagine myself stopping any time soon – definitely a holy grail product for me!

My favourite skincare brand of all would have to be Vichy, I’ve loved all the products I have tried from them, but my most purchased, and forever repurchased item is their Aquaria Thermal Hydration Cream – the light version. This is the absolute perfect moisturiser for my skin, it’s light enough so it doesn’t feel heavy or greasy on my sin, but nourishing enough to hydrate it fully. I use this every single day, it smells so fresh and uplifting and it does exactly what I want from a moisturiser. I’m not too sure what else there is to say about this, except I absolutely adore it, and will continue to repurchase for a long time to come! (And so should you..!)

So there we have it, those are the the skincare products that I will forever repurchase! I’m sure there’s more that I will find in my stash later on, but for now these are the products that come straight to mind! I am planning on writing another Forever Repurchased post very soon, but this time concentrating on makeup products – so stay tuned for that, I’m sure that will be an exciting one!

Have you tried any of the products I mentioned? What are the skincare products you will forever repurchase? As always, I’d love to have a read of your thoughts in the comments, and thank you so much for reading!
