With Christmas, New Year and a 5 week wait for pay day the last month has made a rather substantial dent on my bank account so I’ve been doing my best to rain in my spending and not splash out on things I didn’t need. However now that January is on it’s way out, and pay day is round the corner, I thought I’d write up a wishlist style post, to let you guys know what I’ve had my eyes on throughout this month, and the bits I might be treating myself to come pay day.
1. L’Occitane | Sweet Candied Fruit Home Duo > £30
I’ve become a big fan of home fragrance recently, but I’ve literally just ran out of the rest of my Yankee Candle tarts, so I thought I would opt for something a bit different this month. This Sweet Candied Fruit Home Duo is described as a mixture of dried fruit and honey combined with woody notes of vanilla and caramel, which sounds absolutely incredible and right up my street. It comes with a regular candle and a home perfume, which is perfect for me, as I love a good candle, but also being able to spritz a bit of gorgeous fragrance when you please is great. I often forget about L’Occitane as a brand, but I really shouldn’t as they always have some amazing gift sets with the most incredible scents and I’ve loved everything I’ve tried from them previously.
2. MAC | Lipstick in ‘Brave’ > £15.50
This time last year, I had actually never tried a MAC Lipstick (shock horror), but fast forward 12 months, and I’ve become a pretty big fan, and have been slowly building my collection up. I’ve currently got my eye on quite a few shades, but at the top of my wishlist is Brave – described by MAC as a ‘pink-beige with white pearl’. Plenty of people have recommended this shade to me, including the lovely Lauren from laurenselwood.co.uk, and I really do think it will be a shade that I’ll love. Come at me Brave.
3. Pink Neoprene Camera Case Bag for Olympus E-PL7 > £4.99
Just after Christmas I treated myself to a new camera, and if you follow me on Twitter or Snapchat (@emilykate21 – yep shameless plug) you’ve probably seen me going on about it plenty times as I’m seriously in love! The camera in question, is the blogger favourite – the Olympus Pen EPL-7, and boy does it live up to it’s hype. I’m currently on the hunt for a camera bag that I really love and that will fit everything I need inside it, but at the moment I’ve been unlucky in my hunt, and nothing really has caught my eye. However, I’m pretty scared of taking my new camera out with me without any protection, so I’m going to buy this bright pink neoprene camera case from eBay for only £4.99 to keep it safe and scratch free in the mean time.
4. ColourPop | Where The Light Is Eyeshadow Quad > $20
ColourPop are a brand that I’ve been dying to try for absolutely ages, and I think that February will finally be the time that I get around to making an order, and getting it forwarded from the States. Since they currently don’t ship to the UK, I’ve been putting off making an order due to shipping and customs prices but seeing other blog posts about the process has made me really want to go ahead. I’ve had my eyes on various different eyeshadows and lippie stix, but the main item I want to order is Kathleen Lights collaboration with ColourPop in the form of the ‘Where The Light Is’ eyeshadow quad. Kathleen is one of the only YouTuber’s I actually watch, I absolutely love her channel so I’d like to support her in that sense. Also the shades in the quad look right up my street, the swatches are gorgeous and I’d love to try out ColourPop’s highly raved about unique formula.
5. Urban Decay | Eyeshadow Primer Potion > £16
In the last few months I’ve been experimenting quite a lot with different eyeshadows and looks, but one thing I seem to be missing is a solid, good eyeshadow primer. I have a fair few budget versions that I think serve me well, but I’d love to try a more high end version to see how it compares. One that I’ve heard great things about is Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion and as a fan of Urban Decay, I’ve got high hopes for it!
6. Too Faced | Better Than Sex Mascara > £19
I did actually feature Too Faced’s Better Than Sex Mascara in my August Pay Day Wishlist and somehow, 4 months later, I still haven’t got my hands on it, so it’s being added into this wishlist too! This is another product that I’ve heard amazing things about, read countless reviews for and with a naming convention with such a bold claim as this, I don’t feel like I can pass up. I’ve currently got a fair few mascara’s open at the moment, so as soon as one runs out, I’ll be sure to give this one a shot!
7. NARS | Tinted Moisturiser > £29
As some of you will probably be aware, I currently do shift work, which means I do 4 lots of 12 hour shifts, 2 of which are overnight. I sit behind a desk with what feels like a million screens (I tweeted a photo here if you’re interested), and don’t really leave the room, or interact with any customers or other parts of the business. This means that I don’t need to have a full face of makeup on for work, which is great but being in the office for over 12 hours with air con or heating, really isn’t good for my skin. For me, a tinted moisturiser is the perfect solution for this, it protects my skin and also gives me that little bit of coverage I need, so it doesn’t look like I’ve rolled out of my bed just before my shift (which is usually the case). I’m currently using Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Tinted Moisturiser, which I absolutely adore, as it does it’s job perfectly, but I’m coming to the end of my tube and I’d like to try out something new. I’ve heard great things about NARS’ Tinted Moisturiser so next time I pop into Space NK on my lunch break, I’ll be sure to get colour matched and see for myself what all the hype is about.
8. ZOEVA | Rose Golden Eye Brush Set Vol 2 > £56.95
As I mentioned earlier, I’ve recently been really getting into eyeshadows, and have been enjoying myself trying out various new looks with different shades and palettes. Although I have a huge selection of face brushes, my eye brushes are seriously lacking, and I’ve started to notice that the brushes I’ve been relying on don’t do as good of a job as I’d like them to and it’s time to invest in a new set. Zoeva’s brushes are highly credited in the beauty world, and since picking up a few singles from Beauty Bay, I can really see why – the quality is amazing for the price! Containing 12 brushes, you get a lot more for your money by buying the full set rather than the individual brushes. There’s a great variety of brushes in the set and as a cliché blogger I absolutely love rose gold, so these seem absolutely perfect for what I’m looking for. I’m sure they’ll be making their way to my front door very shortly…
Would you like to try out any of these products too? What’s on your payday wishlist? As always, I’d love to have a read of your thoughts in the comments, and thank you so much for reading!
