KIKO Haul FT. Rebel Romantic Collection

I’ve only become familiar with KIKO, an Italian professional cosmetics brand, in the last year or so, but they’re already a firm favourite of mine. Many of their products are staples in my makeup bag, and their Velvet Satin Mat lipsticks, are my most used and loved lipsticks ever (yes I know that’s a bold claim). I’m lucky enough to have a KIKO in my local town, so whenever I’m out shopping, I can’t resist popping into the store, to see what new collections they have or what goodies are in their sale. KIKO Haul emilyloula beauty blog Intensely Lavish Lipsticks Shadow Stick BB Cream Mat Mousse If you follow me on Instagram (yep, shameless plug), you’ll have probably seen a few bits out of this haul featured on there already, but I realised I hadn’t mentioned them on my blog. So I thought I would round up the bits I’ve bought in my last two trips, and put them in a KIKO haul post for you guys! KIKO Haul emilyloula beauty blog Long Lasting Shadow Stick Mat Mousse BB Cream

I’m still on the hunt for my perfect foundation (if it even exists?), so I’m always up for trying new base products and even more so when they’re on sale. I picked up this Mat Mousse Oil Free Foundation for about £6 in KIKO’s sale, as I have an oily complexion, and I’m a big fan of a matte base so it sounded right up my street. As the name suggests, this has a mousse consistency, which feels really smooth upon application and gives quite a good coverage. I can’t comment on the longevity of this foundation just yet as I haven’t tested it enough yet, but as first impressions go, I really like this. The second base I picked up from KIKO was their Sunproof BB Cream, which unfortunately isn’t available anymore as it was limited edition. I’ve been after a good BB cream for a while, and the fact this had SPF30 and was on sale for about £5 really sold me. Unfortunately I haven’t actually got round to using this properly just yet, but I’ll be sure to do a review of these once I’ve really gotten used to them.

I mentioned in my latest New In post, that I had picked up one of these Long Lasting Shadow Sticks, but it was rather dark so I had planned to pick up another one of a lighter shade. I had originally bought shade 39 – Dark Taupe, and whilst it is a lovely shade, it’s too dark for me to use all over my eyelid, which is what I had originally bought it for. On my latest trip into KIKO, I had wanted to pick up a few more, but unfortunately the shades that I had been eyeing up were all out of stock, except 05 – Rosy Brown. This is the most gorgeous mauve shimmery shade, which is perfect to use all over the lid for a quick and easy yet stunning look. The consistency of these shadow sticks are incredible – they’re so pigmented, easy to blend and really long lasting. After doing the swatches for this post, I wiped my arm with a baby wipe a few times, and the other swatches came off fairly easily but these shadow swatches weren’t budging at all. I mean literally none of it was moving, it wasn’t smudging, it was staying put like nothing I’ve seen before. I actually had to go and get some waterproof makeup remover to get these off and still then it took a good couple of goes. I’ve heard that these KIKO Shadow Sticks are supposed to be incredible dupes for the By Terry Ombre Blackstar Melting Eyeshadow Sticks (£29), but I can’t comment on this as I’ve never tried this more luxe alternative. I absolutely love the formula of these Long Lasting Shadow Sticks and I’ll definitely be picking up a few more shades when they’re back in stock! KIKO often release great limited edition collections, which always catch my eye, but as soon as I saw the Rebel Romantic collection online, I knew I had to head into store. I spent ages coo’ing around this beautiful new collection, and swatching until my heart was content, but I was pretty good and only left with three items. I picked up two of their Intensely Lavish Lipsticks – in 01 Lusty Peony & 02 – Pretty Mauve and one of their Intensely Lavish Lip Pencils in 01 – Lusty Peony. Looking at the swatches below, 01 & 02 are really quite similar, and truthfully, I didn’t really need to pick up both, but I couldn’t make my mind up so I did anyway (obviously). 02 – Pretty Mauve is definitely slightly deeper than 01 – Lusty Peony, but really there’s not much in it. They’re both absolutely gorgeous on the lips, with a nourishing, creamy satin finish which is quite stunning when worn alone, or with the liner. Although incredibly difficult to photograph, the packaging of these lipsticks is definitely my favourite out of any that I own. They’re fairly weighty, and feel of really good quality –  you’d never guess they were only £6.90 if you were to pick one up. The gorgeous rose gold casing includes a really satisfying magnetic closure, paying homage to its ‘Lavish’ name…

Along with the 6 lipsticks KIKO released in this Rebel Romantic line, there is also 6 matching lip liners, which I always think is great. I picked up 01 – Lusty Peony, to compliment the first lipstick I bought, but as the shades are so similar it definitely can be used with both. Like the lipsticks, the liner feels really lovely and creamy on the lips, it isn’t drying at all and definitely increases the longevity of these gorgeous lipsticks. KIKO Haul emilyloula beauty blog Intensely Lavish Lipsticks Shadow Stick As usual, I’m really happy with the all items that I’ve picked up from KIKO, and I can’t wait to really have a play around with them now. As a self confessed lipstick addict, obviously the Intensely Lavish Lipsticks were my favourite purchase from this KIKO Haul, but so far I’m definitely impressed with it all. I really need to get my hands on even more of the Long Lasting Shadow Sticks as the quality is honestly incredible – especially for their highstreet price tag! If you’d like me to individually review any of the items in this post, please let me know and I’d be more than happy to do so!

What do you think of KIKO? Have you tried anything from them – if so what’s your favourite item? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments, and thanks for reading!
