From the heatwave we’ve been having in the UK the last couple of days, I thought there would be no better time than to review the Latest in Beauty, Glamour Summer Edit box. This box retails for £17.99 and contains over £90 worth of products that are perfect for the beautiful weather we’re having and the season of Summer. This is, by far, my favourite box from Latest in Beauty, containing 9 beauty must haves from some really impressive brands all within this beautifully designed box.

PIXI Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner
15ml Sample Size | RRP £18 for 250ml
Glow Tonic is my holy grail toner, and one product in my skincare routine I definitely couldn’t be without. This stuff is like gold dust and is often sold out everywhere, which is absolutely no surprise considering the amazing things it can do for your skin. It’s an incredible exfoliating toner that helps to tone, firm and tighten the skin – it’s done great things for my acne scarring too! I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed when I saw the size of this sample, I’m not sure if you would be able to see effects from using this little amount if you were trying it out for the first time. However as a regular user of this toner, this sample size will be perfect for travelling. I won’t blabber on too much, you should just know I love it and I’ve done a full review on PIXI’s Glow Tonic here if you fancy a read.
Nails Inc Gel Effect Polish
Full Sized Item | RRP £15
Each Glamour Summer Edit box contained a full sized (8ml) Nails Inc Gel Effect polish which each retail for £15. I received mine in the shade Uptown, which is the most beautiful dusky pink shade, and the one I was hoping for from the options available. The nail varnish is said to create an ultra glossy, high shine gel effect finish without the need of a UV lamp, and I personally love the effect that this varnish gives. The formula of this polish is also said to be new and improved, which features nourishing flower extract to help condition and strengthen the nails. I’m really impressed to see a full sized polish worth £15 in a box that I paid £17.99 for!
Vita Liberata Trystal Minerals and Luxury Kabuki Brush
Duluxe 3g Sample Size | RRP £35 for 9g
I was really excited to see this mineral bronzer and kabuki brush inside the Glamour Summer Edit as I’ve been hearing great things about it recently. I haven’t actually tested this out enough to see the effects of the self tanning aspect, but the bronzer itself is really nice. It’s a lovely sun kissed matte bronze shade, which is perfect when applied all over. This is the worlds first tanning bronzer and is said to develop into a natural looking tan, which can last up to five days. I think the sample size of this is a really generous one, considering the full sized product is worth £35. There’s definitely more than enough in here for you to decide whether this bronzer is for you or not. Also included was this gorgeous kabuki brush, which is the softest brush I think I’ve ever felt before, and one I’m definitely going to be using a lot.
Bourjois Color Boost Lip Crayon
Full Sized Item | RRP £7.99
I already have one of these Color Boost crayons in my collection and I really love it, so I was more than happy to receive another in a different shade. There were three shades available and I got Fushia Libre which is a lovely cool-toned bright pink shade. These are fairly glossy but so comfortable to wear, without any sticky or tackiness to them at all, reminding me of the Clinique Chubby sticks. They’re said to be waterproof, provide comfort and hydration for 10 hours as well as having an SPF 15 too. These are definitely perfect for summer and a great addition to the Glamour Summer Edit box.
Caudalie Divine Oil
Deluxe 15ml Sample Size | RRP £17.50 for 50ml
I actually think I have a few of these from previous subscription boxes that I’ve never used before, but after hearing so many people rave about this, I’m going to have to give it a go. This divine oil can be used on the body, hair, nails, in the bath or as a massage oil, so it really is a summer multi functional product. This is said to be super hydrating and has a unique formula made with an great blend of oils including grape, hibiscus, sesame and argan. This is quite a cult product, so I know a lot of people will be really happy to see this within the Glamour Summer Edit box and I’m definitely looking forward to giving it a try!
Balance Me Super Toning Body Polish
Deluxe 50ml Sample Size | RRP £18 for 150ml
I’ve tried a few things from Balance Me before, and I’ve really enjoyed them so I was glad to see this body polish within the box. This is said to give your body a celluite-busting, toning workout as you massage it into wet skin and problem areas. The body polish contains a spa-inspired blend of naturally active essential oils, including juniper, geranium, lavender and bergamot, that purify the skin with every polish. It also contains ground walnut shells and blackberry leaf extract that work powerfully together to get away with dead skin cells, encourage cell renewal and feed skin with collagen and elastin-boosting properties. This is another product I haven’t tried yet, but the description, consistency and smell of this, means I’ve added it to my next pamper night schedule.
Eucerin Sun Protection 50+ Mattifying Face Sun Fluid
Full Sized Item | RRP £16
Another item that fits really well with the Summer Beauty Edit theme is this mattifying sun protection SPF from Eucerin. I’m a strong believer of wearing SPF as much as you can when leaving the house so I was glad to see this within the box. I love that it’s a mattifying fluid and specifically for the face, as a lot of people (myself included) often break out when using regular sun cream on their face due to the often greasy consistency. My sister went to a festival last week so I made her wear this as it’s factor 50 and perfect underneath makeup due to it’s mattifying base, she enjoyed it and as off to another festival tomorrow and will be bringing it along again. Another full sized item within this box, and worth £16 which is only £1.99 away from the price of this box – such incredible value!
L’Occitane Aromachology Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner
2x 35ml Sample Sizes | RRP £17 for 300ml
I’ve received this shampoo and conditioner duo in a previous subscription box and actually really enjoyed using them. These are perfect sized for a little holiday away and I will be stashing them away with my other minis I use for travelling. The duo is formulated with a natural complex of 5 essential oils which help to repair dry, damaged or colour treated hair. I personally wouldn’t pay £17 each for the full sizes as I think that’s quite pricey and I don’t think there’s anything particularly special about these, but don’t get me wrong – they are very nice.
Also within the Glamour Summer Edit were a sheet of temporary tatoos from Seekers of the Sun which I totally forgot to photograph separately (ooops). These temporary tattoo’s seem to be all the range at the moment, but they’re honestly just not something I would use. I’ve donated these to my little sister and she was really happy with them, so I’m sure a lot of other people will be too.
So that’s everything that was included in the 2015 Glamour Summer Edit, and honestly I’m very impressed. I think this box has been particularly great as all of the products are really relevant to the theme of Summer, and there’s some amazing goodies in here to be tested out. For only £17.99 you get to sample all these amazing brands, and get over £90 worth of products in the process. The thing I love about Latest in Beauty’s boxes is that you can see what is included within the box before you purchase it. I know a lot of people don’t like the surprise element that a lot of subscription boxes carry, as you may not want to shell out money for items that you don’t know if you’d use. Latest in Beauty’s boxes are all one off, so you aren’t tied into any subscription services and won’t have any mad dashes to cancel before your card is charged next. If you fancy ordering one of these boxes, you can do it from their website here
What are your thoughts on subscription boxes? Do you like the look of the Glamour Summer Edit? What products in here catch your eye? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments, and thanks so much for reading!
