As any regular readers will be well aware, I’m pretty addicted to subscription boxes, so last month when I was given the chance to try a brand new beauty box on the market I jumped at the chance. When the Look Incredible box landed on my door last time, I was really impressed with it in general, but as I mentioned in my review (see here) I had a slight niggle about the amount of products in the box. Included was a bareMinerals powder that would come with a brush if you were to buy it yourself, yet the brush had been counted as the 5th product in the box. I raised this to the Smartzprice team, they were really grateful for my feedback and ensured me that subscribers would get an extra product in their December box to apologise for the mix up. Now that’s the type of service I really like! As the products in the November box were of such high quality, I was really excited to see what would be inside the December edition, and wow, I wasn’t disappointed…
The December Look Incredible Box Contained;
- L’Oreal Paris | Color Riche Blake’s Red Lipstick
- Smashbox | Lip Enhancing Gloss in ’35mm’
- bareMinerals | Deep Cleansing Foam
- Tarte | Lights, Camera, Flashes 4-in-1 Mascara
- Nails Inc | Nail Varnish in ‘Marylebone Mews’
- Liz Earle | Metal Eyelash Curler
L’Oreal Paris | Color Riche Blake’s Red Lipstick > £6.99
This year L’Oreal released two quite exciting lipstick collections, the Color Riche Nudes, and the Color Riche Reds. Each lipstick in these collections were created by a famous face, designed to be their ‘perfect’ nude or red shade. I originally picked up Eva’s lipstick from the nude line, and I really liked it, so I was very happy to see Blake’s red within the Look Incredible box. This is a classic pillar box red shade, with a lovely creamy matte formula – perfect for the festive season we are in at the moment! I love the packaging of these lipsticks, with the matte black casing, golden accents and celebrities signature, I think it looks and feels a lot more pricey than it is! The lipsticks smell just like Parma Voilets, which is a bit strange at first, and I know that a lot of people are put off by this, but personally I quite like it as it’s so different, and the scent disappears pretty quickly after application too.
Smashbox | Lip Enhancing Gloss in ’35mm’
Last month’s Look Incredible box featured a Dolce & Gabbana lip gloss, which I thought I would be disappointed with, but actually turned out loving, and the situation is exactly the same with this Smashbox gloss. As I’ve mentioned before on here, I’m really not a fan of lip glosses in general due to their sticky consistency, however this Smashbox gloss isn’t sticky at all, which is a huge plus point for me. I received ’35mm’ which is a golden shimmer copper brown shade that I’ve actually really fallen for. I thought this shade would age me, or make me look like I was stuck in the 90’s, but it’s actually really pretty when worn on the lips alone, or over a lipstick. The lip enhancing glosses from Smashbox all contain shiny polymers and pearls with a hint of glistening colour, that gives the prettiest three dimensional shine. It makes my lips look nourished, healthy and plump – I feel like I’m slowly being converted to lip glosses!
bareMinerals | Deep Cleansing Foam > £15.00
bareMinerals are a great brand in my eyes when it comes to makeup, however I’ve never actually ventured out and tried their skincare, so to see a full sized deep cleansing foam in the Look Incredible box was great. I haven’t actually had the chance to try this out just yet as I’m currently trailing some other skincare, however I’ve heard good things so I’m excited to give it a go. bareMinerals claim that this cleanser has ‘extraordinary’ skin-renewing benefits, including faster cell turnover and antioxidant protection. It has also been clinically proven to reveal brighter, smoother, younger-looking skin, reduced fine lines and wrinkles, and remarkably smaller-looking pores. Usually I’m not a fan of foam cleansers as I find that they can be quite drying, but this features a unique electrolyte delivery system that optimises your skin’s ability to absorb and retain moisture, which sounds very promising!
Tarte | Lights, Camera, Flashes 4-in-1 Mascara > £15.99
I’ve never actually tried anything from Tarte, despite really wanting to, so I was extremely happy to see this mascara from them in the Look Incredible box. I’ve heard really good things about the Lights, Camera, Flashes mascara and as Tarte is slightly difficult to get hold of here in the UK, it’s definitely an exciting product to have in a UK subscription box. This 4-in-1 mascara claims to lengthen, curl, volumize and condition giving you healthy, nourished, longer lashes. The brush is curved, which is my favourite type of brush when it comes to mascara, so I’m imagining that this will be ‘right up my street’. This is another product that I haven’t managed to try out just yet, but I’m definitely looking forward to giving it a go – stay tuned for my thoughts!
Nails Inc | Nail Varnish in ‘Marylebone Mews’ > £11.00
Nails Inc also featured in the Look Incredible November edition (see my review here), and this month we’ve got another nail varnish that’s been created in collaboration with Glamour. Again, I’m assuming that these varnishes were originally included with Glamour magazine as a freebie, but I quite like this as it means that they’re limited edition shades. This is a grey toned varnish, with a slight hint of lilac that makes it a really pretty every day shade. Nails Inc are a great, well known brand when it comes to nail varnishes, so as usual the formula of this is top notch, and I think it’s a lovely shade to have in a collection.
Liz Earle | Metal Eyelash Curler > £4.99
When I first opened the Look Incredible box I thought that this was just a standard cheap eyelash curler, but on further investigation I realised it was actually from Liz Earle. As eyelash curlers go, this feels weighty and of great quality, and also features a spare rubber cushion, which is attached to the side handle of the curlers- a great idea in my opinion!
Now wasn’t that an amazing beauty box from Look Incredible?! I’m honestly so impressed with the contents, that I’m keen to say that this probably the best subscription box that I’ve ever received, and that’s definitely a bold claim! The December box featured some really great brands, as well as an array of amazing products, some that I’m really excited to try, and others that I’m really pleased to add to my collection. The Look Incredible beauty box retails for £18.99 a month here, and although this is pricer than other subscription boxes on the market, all 5 products you receive will be full sized, making the contents a lot more valuable. I honestly think the Look Incredible box is worth every penny and some due to the great quality of the full sized products that are featured, I mean this months box was worth over £80 – isn’t that amazing value?!
What do you think of the December Look Incredible box? Would you be as impressed as the contents as I am? As always, I’d love to read your thoughts in the comments, and thank you so much for reading!
