Look Incredible Deluxe Box Review | May 2016

Over my time as a beauty addict, I’ve pretty much signed up to every beauty subscription box available to the UK market. Some I absolutely loved, others I loathed, and a few I just got bored with their duplicate content over time. However, one box that has had my interest each month since it launched is the Look Incredible box. Look Incredible offer two different subscription boxes, their standard Beauty Box (£18.99), and their Deluxe Beauty Box (£35.00)* – which is what I have to review for you guys today.

The Look Incredible Deluxe Box is a bit different in my opinion that the majority of the beauty boxes on the market, and that’s down to it’s amazing contents. Yes, £35 is pricier than the standard £10-15 you’d pay for a regular subscription box, but with Look Incredible you won’t find any pesky samples – all 5 products are full sized, every single month. In the deluxe edition, you’re guaranteed to get high end brands featuring in your box, but if the £35 price tag is a bit out of your budget – their regular beauty box (£18.99) also features some amazing products, and brands too. I’ve previously reviewed their standard beauty boxes here and here, so you can get a feel for what type of products may be included in those ones too. This month’s deluxe box is really great value – featuring a range of makeup goodies from some great well known brands – worth over £121!!

The May Look Incredible Deluxe Box contains;

  • NARS | Makeup Primer with SPF
  • NARS | Eyeshadow Duo in ‘Underworld’
  • Chantecaille | Lip Sheer in ‘Quasar’
  • Tarte | Lights Camera Lashes Mascara
  • Guerlain | Makeup Brush

When my box arrived on my door, I literally ripped open the package as fast as I could, and I was absolutely delighted to see two NARS products beaming at me from inside. Personally, I’ve never seen or recieved NARS in a subscription box before, so this impressed me from the offset. I’m a huge fan of NARS and so far have loved everything that I’ve tried from the brand before, so I had high hopes for these two products…

NARS | Makeup Primer with SPF RRP £25

A good primer can really make all the difference to the overall look, and longevity of your makeup, so I’m always up for trying out something new. I love NARS base products, but have never tried a primer before, so I was particularly happy to see this in the Look Incredible Box. A full sized NARS primer… yes please! This is a great addition to a beauty box, as it’s really something that everyone can use, and since it’s a typical translucent primer – there’s no need to worry about the shades here. Not only does this primer protect the skin from UVA and UVB rays, featuring SPF20, it also helps to prevent premature ageing, ease redness and reduce inflammation. The primer contains Active Phytoseed Complex which is said to provide intense hydration, and improve the skins overall quality and texture. I really dislike silicone primers, so I was really happy to see that this isn’t silicone’y in the slightest, and actually feels quite nourishing on the skin for a primer – I’m sure I’m going to get a lot of use out of this!

NARS | Eyeshadow Duo in ‘Underworld’ – RRP £25

I’ve never tried any of NARS eyeshadows before, so I was especially excited to see this little duo in the Look Incredible box. I have to admit, when I opened it, I was a little disappointed with the shades. Not because there’s anything wrong with them – I mean just look at my swatches below – they are gorgeous! But because I knew I wouldn’t actually get a whole lot of use out of them – I’m a brown/nude eyeshadow girl through and through… Because of this, I thought instead of keeping such a pretty duo myself, and not using it to it’s full potential, I would gift this to my little sister. My sister is queen of eye makeup, and was absolutely overjoyed when I gave this to her, I know she will get so much more use out of it than I ever would, so I feel like it’s gone to a good home. NARS eyeshadows, as you would expect are incredibly good quality, this particular duo is amazingly pigmented, and the shadows are feel really smooth and creamy to the touch. After testing these out, I definitely want to get my hands on another duo with more neutral shades, as I really loved the quality of these. I personally think this NARS duo is a great addition to the Look Incredible box, and one that a lot of subscribers will be very happy with!

Look Incredible Deluxe Box Review May 2016 emilyloula blogChantecaille | Lip Sheer in ‘Quasar’ RRP £24.50

I have to admit, I’ve never actually heard of the brand Chantecaille, but after a quick Google search, it was clear to me that this a very high end, luxurious brand, stocked in Space NK, that I’ve apparently been missing out on. This is a lighter, sheer and plumping lipstick that provides you with intense hydration but also a really good colour pay off. The formula kind of reminds me of the Benefit Tinted Balms, but a lot more pigmented and long wearing  – I really love it! It’s a natural wax based lipstick, and features some great ingredients such as Vitamins A & C, amino acid emollients (helps to moisturise) and SPF6. Unlike the NARS Duo, this Chantecaille lip sheer is a shade I’ll definitely wear, and is actually one that I would have picked up myself. I know I’m going to get a lot of use out of this lipstick, I really do love it so I’m super happy that this was included in the Look Incredible box.

Tarte | Lights Camera Lashes Mascara RRP £21.50

Tarte are a brand that are slightly more difficult to get your hands on here in the UK, so I was overjoyed to see a product from them in the Look Incredible box. I’ve previously tried out the sister of this mascara – ‘Lights Camera Flashes’ and really loved it, so I was excited to give this one a go. I’ve tested it out a few times and so far I’m really impressed – this does a great job at separating and lifting my lashes, and the brush manages to coat each one individually. I think I actually do prefer this one to it’s sister, as it just makes my lashes look so pretty and ‘fluttery’ and the brush seems to work really well for me. I really like the packaging of this too, so all in all it’s a big thumbs up from me, and another item in the box I’m really impressed with.

Guerlain | Makeup Brush RRP £25.50

The last product in the Look Incredible Deluxe box is this little brush by Guerlain. I love the look of this, with it’s pink bristles and illustrated ferrule, it really is quite pretty. It’s super soft and is the perfect size for powder touch ups on the go, so I’ll definitely be adding this into my travel makeup bag!

Overall, I’m really impressed with the Look Incredible box – it’s full of amazing brands and products, and worth over £120 – I’m sold. As subscription boxes go – I think this has to be the best box I’ve ever received – I’m that much of a fan! The only thing I won’t use is the NARS eyeshadows as I mentioned, but that’s purely because of the shades, and not because of the product – I’m sure a lot of subscribers will be very happy with it (as was my sister). My favourite thing about the Look Incredible boxes is that all 5 of your products every month, will be full sized, so you know you won’t be seeing any tiny samples here! Its a big thumbs up from me here this month – I’m very impressed!

The Look Incredible Deluxe box retails for £35.00 here, or their regular beauty box for £18.99 is here.

What do you think of the Look Incredible box? Would you be impressed with this contents? Would you consider signing up? As always, I’d love to read your thoughts in the comments and thank you so much for reading!
