Love Me Beauty July 2014 Review

Love Me Beauty is a beauty subscription box with a slight difference, you get to pick a ‘menu’ from the three available every month. I think this is such a good idea, but it’s always so hard for me to pick! By the time by box has arrived I have always forgotten what was in my menu, which means I am still as excited to receive it as a normally beauty box.

love me beauty julyThis month I picked menu 3 which included;
> Lashem, Lash Enhancing Serum, 2ml Sample, RRP £40 (3.5ml)
> OFRA, Pressed Eyeshadow in ‘Gold Rush’, Full Sized, RRP £8.80
> OFRA, Eyeliner in ‘Black, Full Sized, RRP £7.60
> So Susan, Flutter Mascara, Full Sized, RRP £14.95
> So Susan, Dual Brow Powder, Full Sized, RRP £11.95
> The Teashed, Skinny Tea-20 Whole Leaf Green Tea Silky Pyramid Teabags, RRP £3.50
> Welda, Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion, Full Sized, RRP £15.95

The only lash serum I have tried is the L’Oreal Paris Renewal Lash Serum, which I used for a couple of weeks but never noticed any difference, so I’m kind of sceptical that this will work. Instead of applying it like a mascara over your lashes, you will need to apply a thin line of this serum to the base of your eyelashes in a continuous stroke. It says you should be able to see results after using this once a day for 2 weeks, so I am definitely going to give this a go and I will report back with results!

OFRA, Pressed Eyeshadow in ‘Gold Rush’, Full Sized, RRP £8.80
I haven’t actually heard anything from OFRA before, so seeing two products in this months Love Me Beauty is a nice way to familiarise myself with the brand.  This eyeshadow is a beautiful colour and a really nice size, underneath the eyeshadow is also a little mirror and room for a tiny applicator if you wanted to add one. Teamed with a good eyelid primer, this eyeshadow will stay on all day with a beautiful shimmer to it.

I’m always on the look out for a good black eyeliner so am always happy to see one in any beauty box. This liner is water resistant, which is great for the hot humid weather we are having in the UK, so it doesn’t sweat off (gross but true). It is made with a synthetic beeswax, which gives it a smooth application without scratching the eyes and gives a beautiful long lasting look.

So Susan, Flutter Mascara, Full Sized, RRP £14.95
So Susan is a brand that I have seen floating about, and I have got a couple of products that I have received from various beauty boxes throughout time. This is an ‘intense carbon-black mascara, formulated with with hyaluronic spheres to help you achieve the darkest, curviest lashes possible’. The brush is quite long but also quite thin, which is perfect for my bottom lashes, it has stiff bristles which is great for separating lashes.

I have only started filling in my brows this year and now I wish I had started earlier! I currently use MUA’s Perfect Brow palette, but love trying new ones! I can definitely use both of the shades in this palette, which is such a rarity for me! I am currently using the darker shade as I am fairly tanned, but when it comes to winter and the pasty white of my skin returns, the lighter shade will be perfect for me. This powder stays in place all day and I am actually very impressed with it. The tiny brush that comes with it is actually really good, I ALWAYS lose my brow brush (no idea why??) so this is great for emergencies or travelling.

the teashed

emergency teaThe Teashed, Skinny Tea-20 Whole Leaf Green Tea Silky Pyramid Teabags, RRP £3.50
I am quite a big tea drinker but I have never actually tried green tea, I pretty much stick to a normal English Breakfast tea with milk and sugar. The card says ‘a delicious green tea which is renowned for boosting the metabolism. The whole leaves used inside the pyramind silky bags, give you rich rounded flavour and they do not have the bitter after taste like many green teas’. I really liked how a whole bag of tea bags was inside the box, and not just a couple to sample. Along with the whole bag, there was also an ‘Emergency Tea Bag’, which I thought was such a lovely idea and will be going in the bottom of my hand bag! I will definitely be giving these tea bags a go when I go back to work tomorrow.

welda lotionWelda, Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion, Full Sized, RRP £15.95
This was a box extra which I wasn’t expecting to receive since it wasn’t on any of the menus. Its a full sized (200ml) bottle of body lotion which smells absolutely delicious, it reminds me of sherbet lemons! It contains pure plant oils that have been derived from sun-ripened seeds and fruits. The oils are rich in essential fatty acids which means they are absorbed super well by the skin and help to stimulate its natural regenerative process.

This month I am really really happy with my Love Me Beauty box, I think it is the best one I have ever received. I am definitely going to get use out of all the products in my box. I received 5 full sized items (including the box extra) as well as a one generous sized sample product. Love Me Beauty is £10 (plus P&P)  and this month my box was worth more than £80 which I think is amazing! If you aren’t currently signed up to Love Me Beauty you can do so  here.

What do you think about this months box? Are you currently subscribed, which menu did you pick this month?
