My Little Fashion Box Review

Subscription boxes are one of my weaknesses in life. I absolutely love the idea of getting a box through the post each month, full of goodies that feed my forever growing beauty addiction. If I’m after beauty products alone, Birchbox is my total favourite, but for a mixture of beauty, lifestyle and fashion items, My Little Box truly can’t be beaten.

I’ve been subscribed to My Little Box since they launched last September so it’s been a whole year now and I still look forward to and enjoy each box they send out. This month, My Little Box have teamed up with American Vintage to bring subscribers the My Little Fashion Box, containing 6 great items, and I think it might be one of my favourite boxes yet…

My Little Box x American Vintage | Scarf

This gorgeous scarf was designed and created by My Little Box in collaboration with American Vintage, and I personally really like it. I recieved a scarf from My Little Box before (see My Little DVF Box), and I didn’t think I’d get much use out of it, but I turned out to love it, and I wear it all the time. I think this scarf is even more up my street, and is something that I would probably purchase myself from a store. I love the frayed edges, the material is of a really good quality and overall, I think it’s a perfect item to be included in the My Little Fashion Box.

Alfa-K | Adhesive Nail Decal

It’s only been since very recently that I’ve managed to grow out my nails (after biting them for years), and I’m very cack-handed so painting and decorating my nails is not something that comes naturally to me by any means. I’ve never actually tried nail decals before so I’m hoping that they’ll be an easy way for me to jazz up my nails, although I have to say I’m definitely seeing this ending badly. I actually really like the designs on these so I’m going to give it my best shot shortly and I’ll let you know the outcome! I think they’re a great addition to the My Little Fashion Box, and I’m sure a lot of subscribers will be happy receiving these.

Cointreau | Mini Cocktail Kit

Received 50ml Sample Size | RRP £15.00 (500ml)
I was surprised to see a little bottle of Cointreau in the My Little Beauty Box as I’ve honestly never seen alcohol in a subscription box before, but I think it’s a really great touch all the same. Subscribers received a 50ml bottle which is probably enough for two cocktails if you’re being reserved or one if you’re slightly braver. Also included in the box was a little illustrated booklet of cocktail recipes that included the Cointreau which I think is a lovely idea. I’ve personally never tried this orange flavoured liquor before but of course, I’m willing to give it a go, and it’ll definitely be making an appearance next time I’m going out.

My Little Beauty | Red Dingue Lip Colour

Received Full Sized Product | RRP €22 (approx £14.50)
Each month, My Little Box contains an item from their very own, in house beauty team – My Little Beauty, and every time I’m really pleased with what I receive. This month subscribers were lucky enough to get their hands on one of these gorgeous cream liquid lipsticks. This lip colour dries to a matte finish, meaning it’s not a moisturising formula, however it’s not uncomfortable to wear at all. The pigmented lip cream lasts for quite a while, and once it’s had enough it wears off evenly, without leaving that dreaded patchy finish. I did think the raspberry red shade would be too bright for me, but actually once applied I found it complimented my skin tone quite nicely. It’ll definitely be an ‘out out’ shade in my collection, but I know I will use it and yet again I’m happy with this My Little Beauty product.

La Roche Posay | Hydrating BB Cream

Received Full Sized (40ml) | RRP £15.00
La Roche Posay are one of my favourite skincare brands so I was really excited to see this Hydrating BB Cream within the My Little Fashion Box. I’m always on the lookout for a great base product containing an SPF (this is SPF20), that I can quickly apply before nipping out somewhere, like the shop, so I’m hoping this could be one of those items. This Hydrating BB Cream is enriched with thermal spring water, and contains BB mineral pigments that melt into the skin for a united complexion. Luckily for me, I received mine in the shade ‘Light’, which is perfect for my skin tone so I’m really looking forward to giving this a go. It’s a full sized item (40ml) retailing at around £15, which is just above the price of the whole box, making it great value.

Kérastase | Spray À Porter (Buildable Texture Spray)

Received 50ml Sample Size | RRP £21.00 (150ml)
Another brand that I’m a fan of is Kérastase, so again I was happy to see them included in this month’s My Little Box. I’ve seen subscribers getting various Kérastase products in their boxes, but I recieved the Spray À Porter, which is a buildable texture spray, that I’m really happy with. This texture spray is said to create instant beach waves without the stickiness and can be used to style second day hair – which sounds absolutely perfect for me. The Spray À Porter also includes UV and heat protection – another bonus in my book, making this a great product to have in my stash. I received a 50ml sample size (worth around £7), which would be perfect to take away on holiday, and is enough to work out if the product is right for you.

As usual My Little Box have really impressed me this month, and as I mentioned, I think it may be one of my favourite boxes ever from them. I’m looking forward to using all 4 of the beauty items this month, I love the scarf and I think the Cointreau kit was a great cheeky touch to the box. In terms of value, I think this box is well worth the £11 (+ £3.95 P&P) that I paid, as the La Roche Posay BB Cream was worth this alone and theres some other great products in the box.

What did you think of this month’s My Little Fashion Box? Are you as impressed as I am? As always, I’d love to read your thoughts in the comments, and thanks for reading.
