Last week I got an email from My Little Box saying that unfortunately this months box would be delivered slightly later than usual. Obviously, I was a little disheartened by this, but after the box had arrived and I’d set in about it, it was clear to see the contents made up for any problems they had on the delivery front.
If you’re not aware of My Little Box it’s a French based subscription service that send out both beauty and lifestyle items, often that are specifically created for the box or by the My Little Box team. Each month also sees a new theme, and in June, subscribers were treated to the My Little French Riviera Box, in collaboration with designer Sarah Lavoine.
Usually, subscribers of My Little Box get the same items, but often there is a few bits that slightly differ between the boxes. In My Little French Riviera Box, I received;
> Nail Polish | Sarah Lavoine
> Sea Salt Scrub | My Little Beauty
> Kerastase | Ciment Thermique Blow-Dry Care
> Sunglasses | Sarah Lavoine x My Little Box
> Planters Duo | My Little Box
> My Little World magazine & Quote Print
Nail Polish | Sarah Lavoine
RRP £6.50, available here
This nail varnish is a gorgeous shade and is supposed to be Sarah Lavoine’s favourite colour. I personally love it, and I think it fits really well with the theme of this months My Little French Riviera Box. I’m not a huge wearer of nail varnish, but I’m sure I will get some use out of this in the upcoming summer months, if not on my fingers – definitely on my toes!
Sea Salt Scrub | My Little Beauty
RRP £8.50 for 75ml, available here
Each month within the box there is always a beauty item curated from the team at My Little Beauty. Every single thing I’ve previously had from them, I’ve really loved, and this sea salt scrub is no exception. The scent of this is lovely, so very fresh and smells just like the ocean – although in a good way and not like some of the smelly polluted English beaches we have! The scrub itself is made from Guérande sea salt crystals, so again another item that fits well with the My Little French Riviera Box theme, and a product I’m really looking forward to using! I just wish that My Little Beauty products were available to buy in the UK separate from the subscription box!
Kerastase | Ciment Thermique Blow-Dry Care
RRP £20.50 for 150ml, available here
I was excited to see this within the My Little French Riviera Box, as it is specifically designed for weakened hair – and that’s something I definitely suffer from. I’ve been dyeing my hair various different colours since for the last 5 years or more, so I’m up for trying anything that can help with my brittle and dry hair. This little tube is said to help protect, strengthen and repair hair from the stress of heat styling as well as adding visible long-lasting shine and smoothness. I’m definitely looking forward to giving this a try, as I’ve heard great things about it and it is fairly pricey for a full sized bottle, at £20.50 for 150ml.
Sunglasses | Sarah Lavoine x My Little Box
The first lifestyle item that caught my eye this month was this gorgeous pair of sunglasses created for My Little Box and designed by Sarah Lavoine. I’ve actually been on the hunt for a new pair of sunglasses for a while so these came at just the right time! The rim of these glasses is a matte brown/grey/purple type colour with gold accents and I really love them. I was expecting them to look awful on (sunglasses normally do on me), but I’m very pleasantly surprised! A pair of sunglasses isn’t something I would expect normally from a subscription box, which is why I adore My Little Box so much.
Planters Duo | My Little Box
The other lifestyle item/s in this months My Little French Riviera Box are these adorably cute planters designed by Kanako (My Little Box’s in-house designer). These planters are made from a tough woven plasticy material and are designed to be used as decorative holders over pots. Whether you chose this to be a plant pot, a makeup brush holder, or for odds and ends next to your bed, the choices are quite endless. I’ve popped a cactus in one and some of my mini hair items in the next, for demonstration purposes, but I think I’m going to use them in the bathroom for some extra storage.
Also inside the My Little French Riviera Box was the My Little World magazine and an A5 print card with the quote ‘This is my happy place’. I don’t tend to read the magazine that’s included, but I know that a lot of people don’t really like it due to it being a huge piece of paper folded up, rather than having a classic magazine page style. I love the little prints that are included each month and I have a little collection of them stuck inside my wardrobe door – this one will definitely be joining the others!
Overall, I’m really impressed with this My Little French Riviera Box and I feel like they’ve redeemed themselves after last month’s box, which I wasn’t wowed by at all (review here). I love the theme of this box, and how all the items have been incorporated really well. I’ll also actually get use out of everything within the box, which is a rarity for me where subscription boxes are concerned. My Little Box costs £11 a month (+ £3.95 P&P) – you can sign up here if you fancy. You can also read any of my previous reviews of My Little Box here.
So what did you guys think of this month’s box? Are you signed up to any subscription boxes, or would you like to? As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comment, and thanks for reading!
