My Little Gypset Box Review

As subscription boxes go, my favourite of all time definitely has to be My Little Box. I’ve been subscribed to this box since it launched in the UK last September (review here), and each month I’ve been impressed with the different theme and the unique contents. August bought around the My Little Gypset Box, created with the aim of taking subscribers on an inspiring caravan ride, think artist, designer, dreamer and traveller…

Gypset – (adj) Someone with a passionate soul, an adventurous mind and a bohemian nature.

If you haven’t heard about My Little Box before – it’s a French based subscription service that sends out monthly boxes each with a different theme, containing beauty, fashion and lifestyle items. Every month subscribers receive gorgeous items from the MLB team that have been created exclusively for these boxes, including items from their own beauty range, which I personally love!

The majority of subscribers will receive the same items, with just a few pieces differing between boxes, so for this reason I really try to stay away from spoilers online, as I love the surprise delivery each month.

My Little Gypset Box included;

  • Body Milk | Korres
  • Colour Hybrid Lip/Cheek Tint | So Susan
  • Face Bronzing Powder | My Little Beauty
  • Hair Ties & Bracelets | My Little Box

Body Milk | Korres

Received 40ml Sample | RRP £10 for 200ml
I find that a lot of subscription boxes include body milk or lotions to ‘bulk’ up the contents, and I for one am not a fan of this approach. I have a LOT of mini lotions and potions that I never use that I have accumulated from previous boxes, so really I wasn’t that impressed to see another within this My Little Gypset Box. However, that’s my personal preference, and Korres is a really great brand, so I’m sure a lot of subscribers will be happy to see this in their box. The scent of this body milk is bergamot blossom and sweet pear, which does smell absolutely lovely, so I’ll be gifting this to one of my friends who will actually use it unlike me…

Colour Hybrid Lip/Cheek Tint | So Susan

Received Full Sized Product | RRP £14.50 for 10ml
In the past I haven’t actually been that impressed with items that I’ve received from So Susan in subscription boxes, so I have to admit, I wasn’t expecting much from this lip and cheek tint, however I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s described as a game-changing lip & cheek cream mousse hybrid formula that adds fullness to the lips, and incredible luster to the cheeks. On the lips it feels velvety once applied and dries to an almost matte consistency, which I love. I haven’t used this yet on my cheeks, but I have swatched it on my hand and it’s incredibly pigmented a little will go a long, long way. I received ‘Marsala’ which is a deeper pink/berry shade, that can be built up to a gorgeous darker, fuller shade on the lips. It actually smells really lovely, and So Susan are a cruelty free and all natural brand, which is a big plus point for me these days.

Face Bronzing Powder | My Little Beauty

Received Full Sized Product | RRP £14.50 for 10ml
The final beauty based item in the My Little Gypset Box is this bronzing powder from My Little Beauty themselves. Each month, My Little Box include an item that has been specifically designed for the box by their in house beauty team. So far, I’ve really loved everything that I’ve gotten from My Little Beauty, and this bronzer is no exception. The packaging is really lovely, with a cute beach umbrella print on the top, the compact feels really sturdy, closes properly and includes a full sized mirror, which is always handy. The bronzer itself has a little bit of shimmer to it, but nothing that’s going to make you look like a disco ball by any means. As bronzer’s go, it’s actually really quite pigmented and is a nice shade that isn’t orangey at all, perfect for everyday wear to warm your complexion up.

Hair Ties & Bracelets | My Little Box

My hair is rather long, and forever getting in my way, so I’m always happy to have some new hair bands in my life. I also have massive wrists, which means I can’t keep regular hair bands around them when not in use, as I get those oh so attractive red lines and tingly fingers. These hair ties double up as bracelets, which I think is great as the designs are really lovely and definitely wearable. They’re also big and soft enough for me to wear around my wrists without cutting off the circulation in my hands, yet still keep my hair up for the day without loosing their elasticity. I’ll definitely get use out of these, I mean you never know when a hair tie will come in handy…

Bucket Bag | Antik Batik x My Little Box

In my opinion, the most exciting item within the My Little Gypset box is this gorgeous bucket bag which has been designed specifically for this box in coloration with Antik Batik. I don’t actually own another bucket bag, so this is a new addition to my wardrobe, and I’m really looking forward to getting some use out of it. It’s actually incredibly spacious, I couldn’t believe how much I could fit inside when I tried it out, and the drawstring around the top means it’s easily secured. I think this would be perfect for a festival, holiday, or just a trip out when you don’t need to take a massive handbag with you. The design of this bag makes me think of something you’d pick up in a quirky market on a holiday by the beach, and as it was specially designed for this box, it’s rather unique, which in my opinion makes it even lovelier.

Last month, I wasn’t that impressed by the My Little Road Trip Box, but I do feel that they’ve redeemed themselves this month, as I am a big fan of the My Little Gypset Box. I think the theme is really lovely, and it’s unlike anything I’ve come across in a subscription box before. The contents of the box are all of high quality and really do compliment the theme, which I love. Other than the body lotion, I know that I’ll get use out of everything in the box, so its thumbs up from me this month. Overall, I’m really impressed with this month’s box, and it was great value for money as the bag itself retails for €25 (£18) and My Little Box is only £11 (+£3.95 P&P).
