If you’re a regular reader here on emilyloula, I would imagine that you’ve seen my subscription box addiction in play before. At one point last year I was even subscribed to over 5 boxes a month! Over time I have unsubscribed from them, as they all became a bit samey and I was getting a bit fed up with sachet and teeny samples cluttering my cupboards. However, a brand new box has launched here in the UK, and to say I’m impressed would be a massive understatement. I truly believe they are bringing something new and amazing to the subscription box market, so without further ado, let me introduce to you The Moi-Même Box…
Since this is the first box Moi-Même have curated, I didn’t really know what to expect, but as soon as I opened the box, I was quite literally blown away by the contents. Without a doubt, this is the best subscription box I have ever received, the contents are incredible, and the attention to detail is like nothing I have seen before in this market. Moi-Même isn’t actually a monthly subscription box like many others, but instead, every 3 months, you’ll receive at least 5 full size gifts worth at least £75. You answer a questionnaire when you sign up and then the Moi-Même team select items they think you’d love, featuring jewellery, accessories, homeware, stationary and beauty items.
First up, subscribers of the July box will receive two gorgeous beauty products from the brand Evolve. This is a brand I’ve never heard of before, which is what I love about subscription boxes, you get to try out products you may not have bought yourself. Included is their Tropical Blossom Body Polish (£20.00) and Body Butter (£16.00), both of which smell absolutely incredible, reminding me of a summer holiday to a tropical beach. Evolve is a organic, natural brand, which is always great to see in my opinion, and so far I’m absolutely loving both products – good choices here Moi-Même.
Next up, we’ve got two products from the brand Lisa Angel. I’ve had a few pieces of jewellery from Lisa Angel in the past, and I’ve loved everything I received so I was excited to see this brand featured in the Moi-Même box. I absolutely love wearing thin scarves both in the summer and winter, as I really think they add something to jazz up a plain outfit. I have quite a collection, so I’m really happy to add this gorgeous Pink Flamingo Scarf (£12.00) to it, as this would definitely be one I would pick up myself in a store!
The second product from Lisa Angel is the Slim Wrap with Beads Bracelet (£8.00) in grey and rose gold, which again, I think is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately for me, as I’ve mentioned previously on emilyloula, I have really chunky wrists, so this bracelet didn’t actually fit me, and I believe this was the larger of the two sizes. It’s a shame, because it really is so pretty, but because of my abnormally large wrists I’ve had to donate this to my younger sister, who was incredibly happy to receive it. It feels really well made, and looks so cute and dainty on the wrist that I do think it would make a lovely gift, and is a nice addition to the Moi-Même July box.
Continuing with the adventure theme of the box, Moi-Même have included a Leather Passport Holder (£20.00) from Laurige France. There were many different colours available, but I received the fuchsia one. Again, this would have been the colour I would have personally chose, as pink is my favourite colour (if you couldn’t tell by my blog design…) so the Moi-Même team made the right choice for me again! It’s made from real leather, and feels like a really great quality case, that I’ll definitely be using next time I’m travelling.
Last, but not least is my absolute favourite item from the box, and one that I can’t stop admiring – isn’t it SO nice?! The Personalised A5 Travel Journal (£20.00) is handmade by a member of the Moi-Même team, which I think is such a lovely touch. I love this, because some of the stitching on mine isn’t 100% straight, although still looks professional, which I think really adds to that handmade feel, and makes it so unique to me. Everyone that has seen this book at my house has commented on how lovely it is, so I do think I’m going to have to order a few for my friends! I love that you can buy these from the Moi-Même shop, and personalise it with any message you like! The cover fits a standard A5 notebook, which means you can remove it when you’ve filled up you book with memories, and start a new book – I really love this!
If you’re not a fan of the colour or design of one of the items you received, Moi-Même will actually allow you to swap it for the same item in another shade, for example I could’ve swapped for a blue passport holder, by only paying the postage. This is the first time I’ve heard of a subscription box offering this service, and I think its really such a great idea, especially when you’re spending this much on a box! Also, Moi-Même have their own shop, which features all of the items from the boxes, so if you’d like to buy a gift, or treat yourself to a little something from this box, without splurging on the whole thing, you can do.
Overall, I’m so impressed with the first ever Moi-Même box, I love the adventure theme, and how all of the items really fit in with it, I think they’ve done a great job! Everything is of a really great quality, and I know I will use them all (except for the bracelet, which my sister is wearing right now). Yes, this box is pricier than the standard subscription box at £49.95 a time, but to me it’s not just a standard subscription box, it’s so much better. The contents of the adventure box box is worth over £80, so the value is actually really good, if you can afford the treat. I feel like each box is actually created with the subscriber in mind, and not just for the masses, which makes a really nice difference in today’s market.
If you’re after a treat for yourself, or for a loved one, I would definitely check out the Moi-Même box, I’m truly, truly impressed and I can’t wait for the next box in a few months! To find out more information on the company, or to pre-order the October box, check out the Moi-Même website.
What do you think of the Moi-Même subscription box? Would you consider signing up? As always, I’d love to have a read of your thoughts in the comments, and thank you so much for reading!
