Tag: The Blush Addict – 12 Q’s

As a huge lover of blushes, when I saw the Blush Addict Tag floating around the Blogosphere I knew I had to do one for myself, even without being tagged, so here are my answers to the 12 questions!

The Blush Addict Tag emilyloula Makeup Revolution Benefit KIKO ELF

Q1. What colour suits you the most?

I would say the slightly deeper muted pink shades like Benefit’s Bellabamba but applied with a light hand!

Q2. Pressed/Cream/Loose Blush?

Pressed – definitely! I still haven’t quite grasped the concept of cream blush yet and loose blushes are a nightmare if you’re in a rush – well for me they definitely are!

Q3. Favourite Shimmery Blush?

I’m not really a fan of shimmery blushes as I feel like the shimmer clings to the larger pores on my cheeks, however I am a massive lover of NARS blush in Orgasm. It’s got the most gorgeous golden light shimmer to it, that leaves the most beautiful glow but doesn’t settle in the wrong places. It’s a cult blush for a reason.

Q4. Favourite Matte Blush?

KIKO’s Raspberry Rose, which is part of their Top Pairs palette, is definitely my favourite! This is one of those deeper pink shades I talked about, it has such a great formula and the matte finish is gorgeous, not to mention the beautiful packaging and affordable price! Full review and swatches for this are here.

Like I mentioned I haven’t really got the hang of them yet but I do love the shade and consistency of Bourjois’ Cream Blush in the shade 02 Healthy Glow – I just need to learn to apply it! Anyone got any tips?

Q6. Favourite Drugstore Blush?

For individual blushes it would definitely be Max Factor’s new Creme Puff Blushes, especially in Gorgeous Berries & Seductive Pink. These are my favourite blushes to wear at the moment, so easy to apply and look lovely on. However, for a blush palette it would definitely be Makeup Revolution’s Ultra Blush Palette in Golden Sugar. It’s such a gorgeous palette with some really beautiful shades for such a decent, affordable price, I’ve done a full review and swatches of that here if you fancy a look.

Q7. Favourite High End Blush?

This is a hard one for me as I have a serious love for most of Benefit’s blushes, including Bellabamba, Rockateur & SugarBomb but the title definitely goes to NARS Blush in Orgasm. Another full review of this cult product is here

Q8. Favourite Bright Blush?

I’m not the biggest fan of bright blushes, I much prefer a muted look really so none really!

Q9. Biggest Disappointment/Regret?

So far I’ve been pretty lucky with my purchases and I haven’t been disappointed by any, but I did receive Nicka K Colorluxe Powder Blush in a Beauty Box that didn’t exactly impress me. To use this blush, you have to kind of ‘stamp’ the sponge applicator onto your face, allowing the lose powder to come through. Personally, I found that the consistency of this is too powdery, and I actually make a lot of mess trying to apply this, with mini blusher clouds appearing, I just don’t think it’s for me!

Ummm probably the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes – I mean have you seen them?! They’re so gorgeous.

Q11. What’s On Your Blush Wishlist?

Definitely the gorgeous Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes, particularly in the shade Luminous Flush but honestly they’re all beautiful – I’d love to try any of them! I’d also love to try out some more of NARS blushes and get my hands on a Milani one too!

Q12. Number 1 Holy Grail Blush?

The only blush I’ve ever hit the pan on and one I can wear with absolutely any makeup is NARS Blush in Orgasm (yes, hello again!) Absolutely gorgeous,it’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. I think the true beauty of this is hard to come across in photo’s so I would definitely recommend seeing if you can swatch one and dazzle at i’s beauty in store.

So there it is – the blush addict tag! I tag anyone who is reading this and would like to give it a go, to do this tag! If you’ve already done it, or will do after reading this, drop me the link – I’d love to read them!

    • You should definitely do it! If you do, let me know I would love to read it! I think I might treat myself to the Hourglass ones – they’re so gorgeous aren’t they! x

  • I have only recently got ‘into’ blushers, but they make such a difference to your face!

The ambient lighting blushes are well worth the money, highly pigmented and some beautiful shades with an added bonus of a highlight!

    Great post 🙂

    • They definitely do make a difference, I’ve become obsessed with them recently! I think I may treat myself to an Ambient Lighting blush soon! Have you tried any – what’s your fave? x

  • I will join you on pressed blush being the best option! x

    Hannah | Heyitshannaah

    • It’s just so much easier isn’t it! x

  • I might get round to doing this tag because I’ve got a lot more blushes than I realised I had! To get the best out of cream blushes I’ve found the new Real Techniques blush brush from their Bold Metals collection (I think it’s the 301 brush) is brilliant. It’s got really dense bristles so it’s like using the flat of your fingers but easier (for me anyway haha). Hope that helped!

    Becca | theBeautyInbox

    • Thank you! It’s built up over time but I definitely still want more! I would love to get my hands on the Hourglass Ambient ones!! x

  • Great tag post and collection x

  • You have sooo many!!! I love Nars blushes and Benefit blushes, such good formulas. I really need to try more. I also think dabbing the RT face brush onto the MR blush stick is the easiest way to apply those. I made the mistake once of dabbing it on my face, never again ? Xx

I watched a blogger who recommended adding cream blush with a crush, put some product on you hand and pick up the colour with brush blush to apply, it does work well – I’d been struggling with creams too, but I’m move confident after this.
Out of interest what I’d Benefits Dandelion like that was going to be my next buy x
