I really love reading posts that let you have a little nosy into people’s lives, so I hope that some of you guys do too. Last week I shared my room tour here, and today I thought I would go a little bit more depth and let you all know the stuff I keep on/in my bedside table or nightstand as some people call it.
The actual table itself is pure pine with an oak affect, and matches the rest of the furniture in my room. When we bought the furniture there were various different options I could chose from for this table. Some had more, but shallow drawers, others only had one drawer with the bottom open. I opted to have two deep drawers as I thought this would suit me best, and it definitely was the right decision.
The top of my table is covered with a cute crochet mat which fits perfectly, and used to belong to my Nan. I have a little dish which I use to keep anything I have in my pockets safe, like change, chewing gum etc. It reads “ To do: 1. Become Millionaire 2. Have Nap”, it’s from The Bright Side which is a brand I love. I picked this up in a sale in a gift shop in Windsor but I know they sell their items online too.
My lamp is from The Range, but I painted the gold trim on the shade myself, with fabric paint, and did the same to my main light shade too. This was so easy to do but I think it looks really effective. I also did a bit of DIY with my Hummingbird coaster. I simply found an old ceramic tile (you can pick these up super cheap) and covered it with leftover wallpaper.
My iPad is sat within my iSound iPad & iPhone dock which I bought years ago from eBay but it’s the absolute best. It has two USB ports on the side which I use to charge my phone, portable speaker, portable charger, headphones etc etc – so handy. Behind the slot my iPad is sat in, there is an iPad charger and older iPhone charger so I can charge all my devices from one place.
Last thing I keep on the top of my bedside table is my Bobble Bottle. I have two of these, this one is the smaller 500ml, and I keep my 1L one on my desk at work. They filter water as you drink them, which is a great alternative to bottle water. I absolutely love mine and couldn’t be without them now.
The bottom drawer is full of my PJ’s and bed socks – so there’s nothing interesting in there I’m afraid, but the top drawer is full of bits I use on a near daily basis.
I use a drawstring Birchbox bag to hold all my remotes and cables, this is super handy and stops me rummaging around for things. I’ve also got a little pouch which I have filled with various pain killers, flu tablets etc for easy reach – I’m always ill!
Each week I put all the tablets and vitamins I take on a daily basis into the tablet holder, which again I find really useful, especially when I’m tired I don’t have to find various packets and pots. This was something stupidly cheap like 19p from Home Bargains. I’m a huge fan of my thisworks Deep Sleep Pillow Spray which helps me drift off on those sleepless nights. Slightly pricey, but lasts forever, smells amazing and really works.
Other random bits I have in my bedside table include some tissues, screen wipes, and the first chapter of a book I received in my March Birchbox. I’ve got a little nail set which includes scissors, nail file and clippers, I got this as a Christmas present absolutely years ago but again something I’m always using and comes in very handy. The Mr Men Cooling Gel sheets are another Home Bargains, bargain, super cheap but work so well at helping with the nasty headaches I always seem to get. If you’ve never used this but have frequent headaches I urge you to pick some up – they’re fab!
The main bulk of my bedside table is taken up by my bedside skincare, which I keep in a little IKEA storage box. It’s nice and deep and holds everything I need, skincare wise next to my bed. I’ve written a separate post about my bedside skincare which you can read here.
The bits I keep next to my bed are;
> PIXI | Glow Tonic
> Clinique | Anti-Blemish Solution
> L’Oreal | Skin Perfection Micellar Water
> Nip+Fab | Glycolic Fix Exfoliating Facial Pads
> Talika | Photo-Hyra Day Cream
> Vichy | Aqua Thermal Light Cream
> W7 | Nighty Night Dream Cream
> NUXE | Nuxellence Detox
> Benefit | It’s Potent! Eye Cream
> Soap & Glory | Dr Spot
> Anatomicals | Zap! Zap! Zap!
> e.l.f | Zit Zapper
> Dr. Jart | V7 Turnover Booster
> Simple | Cleansing Facial Wipes
> Balmi | Strawberry Lip Balm
> Elizabeth Arden | Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick
> The Body Shop | Facial Massager
Sorry for the bad photos, the window is directly behind my bedside table as I’m sure you can see, so it makes the lighting really off.
