As I mentioned in my previous post, What’s on my iPhone?, I have started writing many posts that will allow you guys to take a nosy into little sections of my life. Today I thought I would share with you what’s currently in my makeup bag that I use on a day to day basis. Obviously if I’m going out for the night or for a special occasion there will be different items that I tend to use, but the bits mentioned below are my main staples.
My current makeup bag is one my sister bought me home from Bulgaria. It’s a quite obvious Mulberry fake but I absolutely love it purely for it’s size and colour! It’s shape means it’s honestly like a Tardis inside and holds my full face makeup for a normal day, most makeup bags don’t even come close to fitting this amount in so I am super impressed with it.
Max Factor’s Facefinity is the perfect primer for the heat that we are having in England, I feel that silicone based primers melt off my face (gross but true). It has such a lovely texture and works so well at keeping my makeup on throughout the day. I have annoyingly large pores around my nose and between my eyebrows, (does anyone else have this??) so I also use a tiny bit of Benefit’s Porefessional to mask them.
Foundation – Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in 53 Light Beige
I have tried many many foundations but I always end up coming back to Bourjois. Their shades always fit my skin tone so well, and it buffs into my skin so beautifully. I love the healthy mix serum especially as it gives me such a natural yet full coverage when I need it.
Concealer – E.L.F All Over Cover Stick
I bought this in one of my E.L.F hauls just to see what it was like and completely fell in love. The colour is a perfect match, it blends so well and hides any blemishes or under eye bags! For less than £2 you really can’t go wrong with this!
Powder – bareMinerals Original in Light & MeMeMe Flawless Face Powder
bareMinerals have been a firm staple in my makeup bag for over 2 years now, with their original foundation being my powder of choice, it looks so natural, fits my skin tone perfectly and controls any excess oil. Having only received MeMeMe’s flawless face powder earlier this month, its already become my favourite matt-ifying powder, I love this because it’s translucent so can be applied throughout the day without looking cakey at all.
Blusher – NARS in Orgasm
I’m sure pretty much everyone reading this post will have heard many many good things about NARS blushers in general, but specifically the Orgasm shade. It’s the most beautiful shade I have come across, a peachy pink with a slight gold shimmer. You can read my full review of this gorgeous blush, here.
Bronzer – Bourjois Maxi Delight
I absolutely love this bronzer, it gives me such a sun kissed look when I’m tanned, and when I’m not its great for contouring. It also smells super amazing!
Eyeshadow Palette – MUA Heaven & Earth
This palette is by far my favourite that I own, there’s 12 extremely pigmented shimmery shades that can be used to create countless different looks. 9/10 times that I’m wearing any eyeshadow, it has come from this beautiful palette. The shades are mainly browns and nudes, which is great for me and I have used every single one countless times.
Eyebrows – So Susan Dual Brow Powder
This is the best brow powder I have ever tried, it doesn’t budge throughout the day and makes my brows look really natural and well groomed. It contains 2 different shades of powder and a mini brush. I use the darker shade when I am tanned, and the lighter one when I’m back to my normal pale self. The little brush that’s included is surprisingly very good, and great for travelling.
Eyeliner – Benefit They’re Real Push Up Liner
After using this eyeliner for about 2 weeks, I accidentally left it at my friends house and now have been without it for a couple of weeks. To say I miss it, would be an understatement, it makes eyeliner application so much easier and closer to my lash line than I have ever experienced before. It gives such a consistent matte black line that can be easily manipulated into a cat flick. I absolutely love it, and you can read my full review here
Eyelid Primer – bareMinerals Prime Time Brightening Eyelid Primer
I don’t think this eyelid primer is a particularly well known one within the beauty community but I absolutely love it. It has been my go to eye primer for nearly 2 years and I honestly don’t feel I need to look for anything to replace this. It keeps my eye makeup on all day, and can also be used alone for a brightening look.
Mascara – Bourjois Volume Glamour Max & Eyelure False Lash Blending Mascara
Bourjois’ Volume Glamour Max gives my eyelashes such great volume and thickness it genuinely amazes me every time I apply it. I also use Eyelure’s lash blending mascara for my bottom lashes as it has a smaller brush that fits perfectly!
Lipstick – Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in Nude-ist
Yet another Bourjois product that has made itself into my daily makeup bag. I love matte lipsticks and this nude coloured liquid lipstick is a firm favourite. It’s great to wear when you don’t want to look like you have a full face of makeup on. It’s completely opaque and gives a beautiful matte finish. I’m going to be writing a full review soon of this line, so keep an eye out for that!
On days where I’m not so tanned, I have a lot of redness on my cheeks due to acne scarring, I find this little pen is perfect used after primer and before foundation to mask the redness.
So guys what did you think of my day-to-day makeup bag? Is there any new products you think I would like?
