My first beauty box of August landed on my door step yesterday, and as always I was super excited to open it and have a look inside. You Beauty Discovery box is a slightly different beauty box than the standard, each month they release a menu, and you can chose two of the items to be in your box along with some other little bits they chose.
This month I wasn’t as excited about the menu as I have been in previous months, none of the items particularly caught my eye but I picked two anyway. By the time my box arrived I had completely forgotten what I had ordered, so the suspense of a normal beauty box remained.
From this month’s menu I chose JustBe Botanicals – Hydrating Serum & Louise Galvin – Sacred Locks Treatment Masque
Along with the two items I chose I also recieved two 2ml Jimmy Choo perfume samples, FaceD 3-Luronics Cream Serum and a 4 way nail buffer.
JustBe Botanicals – Hydrating Serum
I’ve never tried a hydrating serum before, or many serum’s overall actually so this is really welcomed into my skin care collection. I have been trying this for a couple of days and I have to say I love it. I apply a teeny bit after I have cleansed and toned my skin, morning and night. It soaks into my skin really quickly, has such a refreshing scent and genuinely does make my skin feel hydrated.
Louise Galvin – Sacred Locks Treatment Masque
I love trying hair masques as my truthfully my hair is in horrible condition, I have been dyeing it constantly for about 8 years now and it’s pretty dead. This smells gorgeous and a little goes a long way, which is something I can rarely say with my super long hair. This can be used twice a week, and is specially formulated for coloured or damaged hair, of which I have both.
Jimmy Choo Perfume Samples
Another thing I love receiving in beauty boxes is perfume samples, I’m very fussy with perfumes so being able to have a sniff at home without any pressure from shop assistants is great. I recieved two 2ml samples, one for females and the other for males. The ladies version smells lovely and is ‘ a modern Fruity Chypre fragrence with warm, rich, woody depths’.
I donated the 4 way nail buffer and FaceD 3-Luronics Cream Serum to my mum, as I wouldn’t get any use out of either of them (If you read my blog often you will know that nail items aren’t my thing!).
The You Beauty Discovery Box is £6.95 which is a lot cheaper than most other beauty boxes, so if you are on a budget but would like to dabble your hand in the beauty subscription game you should definitely take a look at this!
Every month I have been subscribed to You Beauty I am always impressed when the box arrives, especially for the price. I can’t really calculate the price of this box as both of the items I chose were sample sizes, but I know it would work out more than the price I paid for the box!
What do you think of the items I chose this month? Have you subscribed to You Beauty? If you would like to, you can visits their website here.
